Russian drone strikes killed a 12-year-old girl and injured several others in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, local officials said Monday.

Ukrainian air defenses shot down seven drones over the region, but one attack caused significant damage in a residential area, said Serhiy Lysak, head of the regional military administration.

A six-year-old girl and two adults were wounded in Russia’s attack on the civilian target and are receiving outpatient care. Residents pulled both children from the rubble of a damaged apartment building, but the older girl died on the way to the hospital.

The attack also damaged several private homes, outbuildings, and a garage. An agricultural facility caught fire in another part of the region following a drone strike.

Elsewhere, a guided aerial bomb hit the Sinelnykove area, and artillery and drone attacks struck the Nikopol district, wounding a 47-year-old woman. Damage was reported to infrastructure, houses, a utility building, and a power line.

In Kyiv, a Russian drone attack set fire to a three-story building at a recreation center in the Desnianskyi district. One woman was injured and treated at the scene, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. A house and a car also caught fire in the area.

The strike follows a major Russian assault on April 24 that involved over 200 missiles and drones. One North Korean-made missile hit a residential building in Kyiv, killing 12 people. Another victim later died in the hospital, raising the death toll to 13, with 87 wounded in the attack on the civilian target.
