Trump Admin to Brief European Allies on Ukraine Peace Plan This Sunday, Sources Say

The Trump administration will formally brief European allies on its Ukraine peace framework for the first time this Sunday, Kyiv Post has learned from diplomatic sources, signaling a new, high-stakes phase in Washington’s push to end the war.

Senior national-security advisers from the UK, Germany, France, and Ukraine are expected to meet with US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll – most likely in London – for what multiple Western officials describe as a “make-or-break” round of quiet diplomacy, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The goal: to explore whether a potential path toward peace talks exists before winter deepens the crisis.

Vance frames US approach

UVice President JD Vance, who is deemed to be leading the US effort alongside Driscoll, framed the administration’s approach in a Friday night tweet.

He emphasized that any peace plan must halt the fighting while preserving Ukrainian sovereignty, be acceptable to both Kyiv and Moscow, and minimize the risk of renewed conflict.

“Every criticism of the peace framework the administration is working on either misunderstands the framework or misstates some critical reality on the ground,” Vance wrote, adding that peace “might be made by smart people living in the real world.”

European skepticism

European officials, however, are approaching Sunday’s session with cautious skepticism.

While the agenda remains closely held, multiple sources say Washington has signaled that this could be its last major attempt at brokering a framework before reassessing its strategy.
