The latest round of bilateral talks between Ukraine and the US concluded in Geneva on Thursday.
Thursday’s talks opened after a fresh round of Russian strikes overnight Wednesday.

Writing on Telegram, Rustem Umerov, Ukraine’s lead negotiator, said he, fellow Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia, and US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, held a conference call with President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the results of the talks along with next steps.
“The next round is being prepared,” he said. “We are working on finalizing the security parameters, economic solutions and agreed positions, which should become the basis for further agreements. The task is to make the next trilateral meeting with the participation of the USA and Russia as substantive as possible.”
Trilateral talks with the US, Ukraine, and Russia are expected to take place in early March.
“Special attention was focused on the economic bloc and long-term mechanisms for supporting Ukraine. Together with the economic team of the Government, in particular Oleksiy Sobolev, and American partners, we substantively worked out a document on the restoration of Ukraine,” Umerov said.
“We agreed that our teams will continue to work on the document in more detail, including on the future reconstruction and investment plan,” he added.
Separate, trilateral talks were also held with the US and Switzerland, and Umerov expressed his gratitude to Switzerland for “organizing the negotiations and creating the conditions for work.”
