Russian armed forces injured eight people and damaged civilian infrastructure across five districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The attacks were confirmed by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, who said the Russian military struck the region using drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. The strikes hit the Nikopol, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, and Synelnykove districts.

“The enemy attacked five districts of the region nearly 50 times,” Hanzha said.

Nikopol area hit hardest

The Nikopol district bore the brunt of the damage, with strikes hitting the communities of Nikopol, Marhanets, Pokrovske, Chervonohryhorivka, and Myrove.

Businesses, a school, a private home, and several vehicles were damaged in the attacks. Six people were injured there, including a 63-year-old man who was hospitalized in moderate condition. The remaining victims are receiving outpatient treatment.

Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske districts also struck

In the Kryvyi Rih area, Russian forces targeted the Hrushivka, Sofiivka, Apostolove, and Zelenodolsk communities, damaging a local store. Two men, aged 20 and 50, were hospitalized in moderate condition following the strikes.

Separately, in the Kamianske district, the Russian military targeted the Bozhedarivka community, damaging local infrastructure.

Fires reported in Synelnykove and Pavlohrad areas

In the Synelnykove district, strikes on the Mykolaivka and Vasylkivka communities sparked fires. The Pavlohrad district also came under attack, with the Bohdanivka community affected, though no casualties were reported there.

Broader wave of strikes on Dnipropetrovsk region

The most recent wave of strikes adds to a pattern of near-daily Russian barrages on the Dnipropetrovsk region, which has faced repeated bombardment targeting both military and civilian areas throughout the war.

At the beginning of July, Russian drone strikes hit five gas stations and damaged railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while in Zaporizhzhia, seven guided bombs struck civilian areas. Ukraine’s air defenses reported that they intercepted 130 of 151 drones and a Kh-59 missile.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) reported that Russian attacks across the Dnipropetrovsk region on July 3 resulted in one death and 13 injuries.

Most recently, Russian forces launched a massive, coordinated attack on Ukraine overnight on July 12, using Shahed attack drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs (KABs). In the Dnipropetrovsk region, drone strikes killed two people at an industrial enterprise in Kryvyi Rih and a 66-year-old man in the Nikopol district.

Following the strikes, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, announced plans to expand a so-called “security zone” that would encompass the territories of Ukraine’s Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. He framed the expansion of this buffer zone as a continuation of military objectives recently outlined by the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
