Budanov Israel War in Ukraine

EXPLAINED: Russia’s Role in War in Israel and Why Ukraine is Warning of a ‘Global War’

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, believes the world is approaching a 'global war,’ highlighting Russia’s and Iran’s involvement in the war in Israel.

In an interview with 'Ukrainska Pravda' this week, Budanov had a sobering message: “… we see several conflicts that, at first glance, seem to be regional, except for Ukraine, but they are all connected by the same countries, it’s like a web.”

As the battle between Israel and Hamas continues, Kyiv Post Today looks at the connection between Russia, Iran, the war in Israel and the war in Ukraine.

We have an upsurge and Ukraine is by far the biggest conflict right now but other than some whiffs of contagion its hard to see how this can become a global war. There have always been several conflicts ongoing at any one time. Especially during the cold war. Which wasnt ever that cold. Also Im not sure we can ignore other major protagonists who create conflicts: China and the Turkish world, the sunni/shia divide...

Budanov is wrong. All militaries are well aware of and use unmanned, remote control aircraft now. The presence and use of these aircraft by hamas can surely be more accurately attributed to Iran - THE major supporter of hamas - than Russia.

Most of the Kyiv Post commentators are rather abrasive in their support of Ukraine. This is a result of their dedication to their country and I realize that, so I disregard it. Ms. Koryun pretty much just lays out the information in a calm, dignified manner. I like that.
