Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) intercepted a conversation that reveals the critical state of supplies among Russian troops on the front lines. In the recording, a Russian woman describes the inhumane conditions faced by her acquaintances serving in the occupying forces.

“They’ve been sitting in a dugout for two weeks, the food ran out. They ate whatever they had. They even ate Theraflu, Mom,” she is heard saying.

According to her, the soldiers were abandoned without food on the front line and had been unable to escape for days. She mentioned that “Vanya, Dima, and Seryozha” were among those trapped in a dugout in the side of a trench.

The recording highlights, once again, how Russian commanders deliberately neglect the lives of their assault troops – with no plans for rotations or proper supply lines. Left for dead, some soldiers are resorting to consuming medication – including flu remedies – just to survive starvation.

HUR concludes the intercept with its signature message: “For every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people, there will be just retribution.”

Russian troops are facing such severe food shortages that they’ve resorted to desperate measures – including, in some cases, eating dogs.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) earlier in 2022 released another intercepted exchange between two Russian soldiers. One service member, stationed in the Kherson region near Crimea, told his comrade that they were so hungry, they had eaten a Yorkshire terrier.

‘No Agreement in Alaska’: Rubio Rejects Kremlin’s Ukraine Deal Narrative

The Alaska summit ended without a deal or ceasefire, though Russia continues to cite it as a breakthrough.

“It’s all f*cked. [Ukrainians] are f*cking beating us like kids. We eat dogs, there’s no food. Today, we ate a Yorkie. A Yorkshire terrier,” one of the soldiers said, according to the SBU.

The other replied: “Oh heck. Although that’s an understatement.”

The soldier added that the lack of food was due to nonexistent logistics: the Russian military “simply can’t deliver” supplies.
