As of July 21, Russia has lost 1,043,160 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,170 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). 

Russian casualties in Ukraine surpassed one million on June 16.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries. 

Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far

The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:

  • 23,028 armored fighting vehicles (including seven over the past day)
  • 55,859 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 132 over the past day)
  • 30,637 artillery systems (including 54 over the past day)
  • 47,181 drones (including 199 over the past day)
  • 11,037 tanks (including two over the past day)
  • 1,199 anti-aircraft systems (including one over the past day)
  • 1,444 multiple launch rocket systems (including one over the past day)
  • 421 airplanes
  • 340 helicopters
  • 28 ships and boats
  • one submarine
